Rector David Visits Oak Class

As part of our learning in RE, Oak class were joined this week by Rector David and lay reader Brian, who spoke to us about what it's like to work in the church and what their faith means to them.

The children came up with some brilliant questions and listened attentively to some interesting (and sometimes surprising!) answers. We were particularly interested to learn that Rector David has carried out over 250 baptisms since he became a vicar, that he felt a calling from God when he was 8 years old (the same age as some of the children in Oak class!) and that Brian once had to carry out an 'emergency' baptism, when the vicar's car broke down!

We thoroughly enjoyed seeing such a great example of 'faith in action' and hope to welcome Rector David back to Oak class soon!
